Showko is a Japanese Actor, Comedian, Ventriloquist and Rakugo Performer (Japanese Sit-Down Comedian) based in Melbourne, Australia. She is known for blending traditional Japanese comedic storytelling with contemporary performance techniques, including ventriloquism and stand-up comedy.

Trained in method acting under the Lee Strasberg Method, Showko plays Kimie in Saccharine, premiering at the Sundance Film Festival and Berlin International Film Festival, with Variety praising her “fine, touching performance.”

An internationally acclaimed comedy ventriloquist, Showko blends sharp wit with handmade puppets and original characters. She is also the only professionally trained Rakugo artist living outside Japan. Her unique blend of traditional Japanese storytelling and modern ventriloquism has led to appearances at major international festivals and as a finalist on Australia’s Got Talent.
